so if you thought canadian bureaucracy was difficult...
think again.
ugh i am so fed up with the paperwork! i've been to the prefecture twice. the first time i went with alessia. there were a few documents we didn't have photocopied, so they sent us away, and said to come back once we had them. (and there isn't a nice website or easy checklist for these things either. you just go and they say "oui" or "non" if you have what you need)
so i went back, by myself. i had all the documents. i waited for an hour. i got up to the counter, and she told me that i needed to go to a different place to get my residence permit. and said some other things that i did not understand.
this new place is where fraser got his, but he needed an appointment
i might also need an appointment
but there is no phone number on the card
so i might have to go there
and wait in line to get an appointment
and then come back
if they've even sent me to the right place.
seriously stupid. they have all these rules, but they're not written anywhere. they reserve every right to turn you away, not only if you don't have what you need, but if you don't have what they ask you for, if they ask you for something extra. ridiculous.
anyway. enough ranting for now. next time you're in line at the passport office, just think: it could be worse.
i've got a small list of things to do tomorrow...we'll see how i fare on the next expedition.
