arrivals

hey friends
we arrived in chile yesterday...we got into santiago and then quickly onto a bus...about 13 hours in the air and another 6 to concepcion. we were verrrry tired. and were immediately robbed. welcome to chile! susie got her beautiful camera stolen. all our stuff was sitting right next to us, but we were tired and slow and they took it right from susie´s purse. took her ipod too, but i got up and got it back, we didn´t realize he had taken her camera, too. damn! soooo...no more trusting people, etc.
the family we´re staying with is exceedingly lovely. very,very friendly and hospitable. we feel very lucky to be staying with such wonderful people, in a wonderful house. they are vegetarian and all of them speak english. they are very patiently helping us with our spanish as well. they are housing kendra as well, she´s from wisconsin and is teaching in the school here. we´ll be helping out with english in the school (it´s english immersion) and will start with that tomorrow. we´re the gringas from canada. sweet!
anyway we miss you! and we´ll try to keep up with the blogging, and post pictures (from my camera. damn!) as soon as we take some.
