today we travelled across chile (horizontally). from the coast, over the coastal mountains, across the central plain, to the andes.
we saw four town squares. aka plazas. we saw some itty bitty towns where no gringas live. they were weird and fascinating. we chilled in chillan. we went to the mercado and we took susie into a meat market and she almost died and screamed the entire time. literally. also we drove to termas, and went to a ski hill but there´s no snow yet this year. there were hot springs also, which susie hopped over a fence to touch and then fell on volcanic rock. and it wasn´t that hot. if she had drank the water she would live to be 100, but we forgot. we went with ismael´s father (also ismael). he´s hilarious and 71 and runs everywhere and has an ipod and a blackberry and is generally awesome. he drives very fast. and doesn´t speak much english so we laughed a lot when we couldn´t understand each other. and bought us many presents, one of which was `punishment` for not ordering postre (dessert) at lunch.

ok we´ll probably be flying from guayaquil on the 6th, and will be staying until we leave lima on the 10th (at like 2am or something, i think.)
haven´t booked the flight from guayaquil because we need to book our galapagos adventure first and see when/if that´ll happen.
