lost in translation

on monday, we attempted public transit. it didn´t go well. probably started out by taking the wrong bus across the city, finally made it to downtown, got on the right bus (going the wrong way), went the other way across the city, were dropped off on a small town street, finally got on the right bus, almost gave up, but finally made it to the mall. ummm...3.5 hours later. so basically we suck at directions, transit, and spanish. we are ¨learning from our mistakes.¨ a little nervous about peru, though, because we need to be able to function on our own and we haven´t exactly been excelling at such things...
but we did buy stuff at the mall, in spanish, without too much trouble. susie bought a new camera.
yesterday we went to school. we´re not much help. but afterwards we went downtown with kendra and miguel (her pololo aka boyfriend). we bought cheap things from street vendors and ate ice cream and saw a movie (the one with george clooney...don´t know the title in english).
today we´re going to pucon! i´m going to try to post some pictures from this weekend. we´ll see how that goes.
